More Disney Pictures

These are all from the Animal Kingdom. That Mountain in the background is Expedition Everest and was the only ride I was nervous about going on, but seeing as how both A and Z (well and J too, but he was too short) wanted to ride and I didn't want to look like a total chump (Amy was the real brave one, she stayed behind with a really sad J) I sucked it up and rode. I want to thank Amy's husband for ever so graciously pointing out that I had been assigned spot number 13 at the exact same moment a group of medics walked by with an empty stretcher (no joke!) I am pretty sure I was only seconds away from heart failure and I hadn't even gotten on the ride yet! Thanks again Dave!!!
I don't have time for much blogging today. We are moving (yes again. yes we need a mental evaluation.) It's just across the street, but with Obama and crew in the 'hood (ok does anyone still say the hood,or am I just a loser?) across the street may as well be across town.
We are moving into Officer housing. The Navy froze a bunch of moves in an effort to save some mula and now housing has a bunch of empty houses. After the houses are empty for 30 days they are allowed to rent them to low life's like us, so we are packing up! The houses are actually smaller, and not as nice (i.e. no granite or stainless in site) but are in a much more kooshy location (i.e. brand new park, swimming pool, canoe launch to the bay, same side of street as Z's beloved school) Seeing as how we never seem to actually be in our house anyways we decided to go for the location. (it also helps that a little birdie told me they are renovating and combining them, so that eventually they will be much bigger and just as nice as what we have now)
Anyways off I go to schlep some more stuff and wave hello to the secret service!

So these Pictures have nothing to do with my post!

I just have a million zillion pictures from Disney and I know that my Mom wants to see them.

So unless I make every post about Disney (which I easily could) I have to just randomly post pictures from the trip for my mom to see.

These pictures are all of us Dancing in the street at the Magic Kingdom during the "Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it" street party. It was one of Z's most favorite things (as she phrases it).

OK so there is my random sprinkling of Disney photos for today!

We are not doing much this week. It is about to get really, really busy around here. There is a big event going on where we live ( not just in the vicinity, but the actual base). They are closing the bridge that connects our area to the rest of civilization for two days, (for Blue Angel fly overs) and President Obama is coming to give a speech! (not that we will likely get to go, at most we will probably just get to wade through all kinds of security every time we want to come/go anywhere) John McCain will be here too (well at least if he's a decent father he will) I wonder if the two of them will hang out? Maybe grab a burger at the dry dock?

We've been told that we can forget about driving anywhere for the next week, and thank goodness Z doesn't have school for the last two days of the week because this place is going to be phsyco! Some families from Z's school are going on vacation that week so they can rent out their homes to the families coming here. I know one of them who rented their house out for $6,000!!!! For a week!!! They always rent it out the year before, and then use the money to go on vacation for the week that the other family is using it. Holy heck! I need to buy a house here! I could pay for a really nice vacation for $6,000!! (anyone have a couple million I could borrow to buy one?) Anyways it should be fun for the kids. Lots of parades, and weird traditions, and the Blue Angels (J will love those!) Maybe the constant parade of runners on our sidewalk will slow down afterwards too. Then I won't have to feel guilty about strolling around out there with my latte and my cinnamon roll!

School is almost over! Yay!!! I can't wait to sleep in! I signed my kids up for cooking classes at Whole Foods (free! Love that!) and they open our pool at the end of this month. Between those two things, and just hanging out and playing, I don't think I am going to need to sign them up for much. Our friends are moving from AK in July, we are camping with the Petersons and the Pamatians in August, and of course we have to use our free Busch Gardens admission at some point, so I think they will be plenty busy.
What's everyone else doing this Summer?

Not a Disney Post!

I know can you believe it? I bet you thought you would have to endure paragraphs and paragraphs of me gushing about our super, fantastic, totally awesome trip! Well you will!!! Just not today.

Oh. My. Goodness.

I should point out that this website has sat on my sidebar for months, and for months I have largely ignored it. Poor little website, just languishing there on the sidebar and me logging on and giving it the cold shoulder day after day!

Anyways, having an uncharacteristic bout of blog organization, I decided I should finally fix those broken links on my sidebar. Of course in order to do that I have to visit the website and get the correct URL. Well...

[insert Sponge Bob narrators voice here]
6. Hours Later....

I never made it beyond PW (pioneer woman) to fix those other broken links (poor Matt Bites...but I did make this http://www.mattbites.com/ on Cinco de Mayo and it was pretty dang yummy!)

In fact I ended up wasting the better half of a day reading this

and drooling over this

and this

and. well. there is also this-

Amy you wipe that drool of your chin at once!!! You shameful hussie!!!!

You are a married woman! And that? Well that hiney has a wife!!! And you? Work. For. The. Lord!!!! Geez some people....

I mean I know that you have a weakness for a southern drawl and a nice set of old fashioned manners, but before you load that lawn chair and a gallon of sweet tea into your trunk and head out to Oklahoma so you can camp at the end of their driveway and watch cowboys pour concrete (or rope cattle which is probably both more likely and more entertaining) like you are at a 3D matinee, take a gander at this

and this

and then there is this
(and this by the way is proof that cowboys don't really have good manners)

I Know!! I KNOW!! I totally got the lawn chair out of my trunk after I saw that!! Or...err..I would have...if I had put one in there, which I didn't. Just that I would have if I was the sort of girl who would want to watch Cowboys with good manners sweating in the Oklahoma sun...ahhh..."take me home country roads..la la la la la la...mountain mama...or errr Oklahoma! take me home where I belong...la la la..." Wait, where was I? Oh yeah sorry, I was just having myself a moment! But I'm Not that kind of girl! Never have been. Not me. No sireee. Nope!
Amy Shame on you!!! You are de. plor. able.! Really? How could you?!
(grammatically incorrect for effect. It's the new trendy thing. All the blog kids are doin' it!)
Good Grief! It's good thing I'm here for you! Maybe some of my saintliness will rub off!
But I do have a question??? So the Mall of America is great, and New York is probably fabfreakintastic, but...what do you think of a girls trip to one of those working ranches???? (for umm you of course! Because that's the sort of unselfish friend I am. I'm so great! And humble too, which of course just makes me that much greater! Wow you are sooo lucky you know me! I'm excited for you!)

Anyways! Aside from the wranglers (which are plentiful), the photos, the recipes, and the stories are a great way to waste time! The really great thing is that chances are if your husband comes home to find this

on his plate. He probably won't care what you did all day, or that you wasted it on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma! ( unless you have the sort of husband that doesn't like veggies of course, in which case the Mac'n cheese is really yummy.)
Well and to be completely honest if your husband is at all like mine, he probably doesn't really give a hoot what you did all day anyways, and just feigns interest because he has figured out that pretending to care about how you spent your precious hours improves his odds of getting a plate of this

OK so actually that is a really awful picture! You probably looked at that and thought "Good Lord woman! Nobody wants to find that on their plate, let alone feign interest in your boring life to get a piece of it!"
(Man! You guys are Harsh! What a bunch of Jerks!)

It's Chocolate cake, and even though it might not look it, it's really, really good chocolate cake!!! Dang Good! So good my chocolate cake loving husband declared it the best ever. ever. (that or he was reading the recipe title over my shoulder)
